The first round of the NFL Draft is always full of surprises and the Green Bay Packers delivered on giving us the biggest surprise of the first round of the NFL Draft.

Green Bay moved up to selected Utah State quarterback Jordan Love with the 26th pick in the NFL Draft.

Love has a huge ceiling and put up huge numbers two years ago before he lost the majority of his offensive line to graduation and saw his numbers decrease some a season ago.

The immediate question became, did the Packers find their replacement to Aaron Rodgers?

The answer may be yes, but it isn't that simple.

First of all, Jordan Love is not a ready-made NFL QB and is going to need to develop much as Rodgers did under Brett Favre when he was drafted into the league.

Secondly, Rodgers's contract is at least two years away from Green Bay being able to cut or trade him so it allows plenty of time to evaluate Love.

Finally, if Rodgers goes off and helps lead Green Bay to move success and potentially a Super Bowl, the Packers would be most likely forced to take a page out of the Patriots playbook and trade Love like New England did with Jimmy G.

The fans may be perplexed, Rodgers may be upset, but Green Bay did what they think is the best for the future of the organization and we will see if they were right.
