Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission present the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.

This week's honoree is Elliott Larner, a senior quarterback on the DeWitt HS Football team.

Elliott was simply awesome for the Panthers last week.  The three-year starting QB threw for 277 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for 260 yards and four touchdowns in DeWitt's huge 69-42 victory over arch-rival Haslett last Friday night at Haslett HS.

Elliott and his twin brother, Abram, are key components as DeWitt takes on Mason this week in one of the Lansing areas big games.  And he looks to lead the Panthers back to the CAAC Blue title and another deep run in the Division 3 playoffs later this fall.

Larner is a three sport athlete who also plays for the boys basketball team (in the winter), and the baseball team (in the spring).

Elliott is an excellent student, carrying a 3.2 GPA.  He has verbally committed to play football at Michigan Tech next year, where he hopes to be an engineer someday.  And he will study that at Michigan Tech.

Congratulations to DeWitt senior Elliott Larner, the Panthers starting QB on the football team.  He's the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.

And it's brought to you all season long by Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission.
