The PGA Tour announced on Thursday that the 2nd annual Rocket Mortgage Classic, originally scheduled for late May, has been moved to the July 4th weekend due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Tour suspended play back on March 12th, right after the first round of the Players Championship was concluded.  Golf's major championships have been moved to later dates because of the pandemic (The Masters likely to November, the PGA Championship to August, and the U.S. Open to September), however the 149th Open Championship was canceled.

The Tour is scheduled to return in June.  Last year's Rocket Mortgage Classic was played at the end of June at the Detroit Golf Club was won by American Nate Lashley, his first ever PGA Tour victory.
