Baseball is almost back!

Baseball fans can rejoice as opening day for the Detroit Tigers is just under two months away. The Tigers will take to the field at Comerica Park on Thursday, April 1st, 2021 for opening day against Cleveland. That game will mark the first of six home games for the club. The first three against the Indians and the second three against the Twins. Spring Training is set to begin for the Tigers just six days from today (February 11th.)

As of now, the Tigers will take to Comerica Park for 13 home games in April and will be traveling for 14 games. I'm just really happy to see a full season return hopefully. Of course, who knows what will happen with fans and how many will be allowed to attend, and even whether or not we will see opening day festivities in Detroit. I hope so.

For many of us out there, we are craving a return to normalcy. The "new normal" just isn't for me. What I wouldn't give to be in a crowded ballpark or concert venue, having a beer, meeting new people, and all that goes along with that. Fingers crossed we get back to that soon.

Speaking of concerts, here are the concerts that Comerica Park has on the books so far for 2021.

  • Billy Joel - July 9th, 2021.
    • Originally scheduled for July 10th, 2020.
  • Def Leppard and Motley Crue - July 10th, 2021.
    • Originally scheduled for August 20th, 2020.
  • Guns N' Roses - July 24th, 2021.
    • Originally scheduled for July 11th, 2020.
  • Hella Mega Tour f/ Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer - August 10th, 2021.
    • Originally scheduled for August 19th, 2021.
