Detroit Red Wings Name New Assistant Coach
The Detroit Red Wings have filled their last assistant coaching opening with the hiring of Minnesota Wild interim head coach John Torchetti on Thursday.
Torchetti led the Wild to the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, where they lost in the first round to the Dallas Stars.
He'll join former Red Wing Doug Houda and Jeff Salajko as assistants under head coach Jeff Blashill.
