Veteran Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater has been named as the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday morning.

Prater hit a 58 yard field goal as time ran out to force overtime in Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings.  He also hit a 53 yarder earlier in the game.

Prater is 16-19 on the season in field goals.  He is the NFL record-holder for the longest field goal ever made with a 64 yard field goal back in 2013 as a member of the Denver Broncos.
