The Detroit Lions have hired Brian Callahan as the team's new quarterbacks coach. He joins Jim Caldwell's staff from the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, where he was a offensive assistant the last six seasons.

Callahan will work with QB Matthew Stafford and offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter on an offense that helped the team win six of their last eight games to go from a 1-7 start to a 7-9 finish.

Brian is the son of former Oakland Raiders and University of Nebraska coach Bill Callahan.
