What kid or adult isn't just a little bit fascinated by a fire truck?

How would you like to bring your kids by the Delhi Township Fire Department Thursday, let them check out the fire engines, and learn a little about fire safety in the process?

This Week Is Fire Prevention Week

Fire prevention week is October 3rd through the 9th.

Our friends over at Delhi Township Fire Department (2074 N Aurelius Rd, Holt, MI 48842) will be hosting a free Open House for you and the kiddos THIS THURSDAY, October 7th.

Check out the fire station, the trucks, and learn about fire safety.

Especially smoke alarm fire safety.

The focus of Fire Prevention Week this year is “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!”

This year’s FPW campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. Knowing what to do when an alarm sounds will keep you and your family safe. When an alarm makes noises – a beeping sound or a chirping sound – you must take action. (NFPA)

The folks at NFPA have a ton of resources to help make sure your family is prepared in case of a fire and to "Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety".

They also have a lot of activities for you and the kids to do together so they can learn and understand as well.

Please join DTFD and share this info with other families so we can all learn and be fire safety ready.
