Danton Cole Hires Luongo and Exter As Assistants
Michigan State Hockey has hired former Spartan Chris Luongo and Ohio State assistant coach Joe Exter as head coach Danton Cole's assistants, the university announced on Wednesday.
Luongo played for legendary coach Ron Mason from 1985-89, he was a freshman on the 1986 National Championship team. He also played professional hockey for 15 seasons.
Exter has been an assistant in Columbus for the last six seasons and he played his collegiate hockey at Merrimack College.
Luongo and Exter replace longtime assistants Tom Newton and Kelly Miller.
