We told you earlier this week that icy conditions were expected this week in the Lansing area and well, we weren't kidding. The National Weather Service has now issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY that is in effect from 10pm tonight through 1pm on Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, the National Weather Service says that power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice from this storm and that "travel could be nearly impossible."

Freezing rain, sleet and snow are expected overnight and early tomorrow. Accuweather says that we'll only see about an inch of snow. However, it's the amount of ice with this storm that has everyone concerned as Accuweather says that we could see ice accumulations of up to three tenths of an inch.

Counties included in the WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY include: Allegan; Barry; Calhoun; Clare; Clinton; Eaton; Gratiot; Ingham; Ionia; Isabella; Jackson; Kalamazoo; Kent; Lake; Mason; Mecosta; Montcalm; Muskegon; Newaygo; Oceana; Osceola; Ottawa; Van Buren
