Columnist and Commentator Bud Collins Dies
Boston Globe columnist and legendary tennis commentator Bud Collins has passed away at his suburban Boston home on Friday morning, he was 86 years old.
He was a commentator for NBC's coverage of Wimbledon from the 1970's into the 2000's. He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island in 1994.
Collins was known for his unique clothing attire as much for his work in the media. He was honored this past September at the U.S. Open in New York as the National Tennis Center's Media Center was named after him.
