Clemson Leads Initial CFB Coaches Poll

Last year's national runner-up, Clemson (helmet pictured above), is the number 1 team in the country in the first Amway Coaches Poll, released on Thursday.

Ohio State, who lost to Clemson in the national semifinals last season, is ranked second with Alabama third.

Other Big Ten teams ranked are: Penn State at number 7, Wisconsin at number 12, Michigan at number 15, Minnesota at number 18, and Iowa at number 23.  Indiana is in the Receiving Votes category.

Defending national champion LSU is rated fifth in the initial poll.

The college football season is set to begin later this month.
