Central Michigan University has named former Auburn head coach and Kentucky assistant coach Tony Barbee as their new head men's basketball coach.

A press conference will make it official on Friday.  But Coach Barbee took to Twitter on Friday morning:

Central Michigan fired their previous coach, Keno Davis, after this past season.  The Chippewas were 7-16 overall, 3-13 in Mid-American Conference play.

They have not made the NCAA Tournament since 2003 (when Chris Kaman played in Mt. Pleasant).  They have one Sweet 16 appearance in their history (1975).
