Catholic Central Football Coach Named ‘Best In State’
CC Football Coach Todd Kolster's teams have won four state championships in ten years. That may have something to do with it.
The High School Sports web site Max Preps has named their top football coaches in all fifty states, with Kolster being named the top in Michigan.
It's hard to argue, knowing Kolster's credentials, which include the aforementioned championships, a 51-4 record the past four seasons, and the constant parade of CC athletes getting scholarship offers to play in college.
Catholic Central is slated to defend their Division 4 title starting on September 4 when they host River Rouge. The Cougars are currently on a 12-game win streak, including a 44-0 thrashing of Country Day in the D4 title game.
The Cougars are odds on favorite to repeat as d4 Champions, if the season does indeed happen. Three players on the current Cougar roster have been offered scholarships at Power 5 Conference schools.
Kolster is in his second stint at Catholic central. he also served as Offensive Coordinator at Grand Valley State, and as head coach at Jenison High School.
