The Montreal Canadiens continued their hot streak winning their sixth game in a ron as they beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 at Joe Louis Arena Sunday night. After a scoreless first period, Montreal (14-4-1) scored twice in the second on goals from Brandon Prust and P.K. Subban. The Canadiens then extended their lead to 3-0 with a Tomas Plekanecgoal with 1:47 gone in the third. Detroit (8-4-5) avoided a shutout later in the period thanks to a power play goal by Riley Sheahan. Montreal then capped the game's scoring with a final goal from Brendan Gallagher. Jimmy Howard made saves in goal for the Red Wings while Dustin Tokarski stopped of shots for Montreal. The Red Wings are off until Tuesday night when they travel to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets for the start of a three game road trip.
