It’s March once again and that means “March Madness” is almost here. The MSU Spartan Men’s Hoop team upset number four Purdue on Saturday in East Lansing. It was a huge win and an ice breaker after losing the last few games.

This team has been lackluster, to say the least. There has been little leadership and motivation too. But, there are a couple of guys that are starting to show some form of leadership. The one guy that really stands out is Tyson Walker.

Walker took over last Saturday’s game against Illinois and he also hit the game-winner versus Purdue this past Saturday.

The Spartans will face the Michigan Wolverines Tuesday night down in Ann Arbor without their head coach Juwan Howard. MSU needs to continue to be focused and play super hard.

March is Tom Izzo’s month, but the past few years MSU hasn’t done too well. This year’s team could be dangerous and a sleeper. But they’re going to have to be totally woken and be very productive if they're going far this year. Players like Gabe Brown and Marcus Bingham can’t be on a milk carton!

Reggie Jackson was known as Mr. October and Tom Izzo is known as Mr. March. Let’s just see what team shows up to the big dance!
