This Saturday on the Forth of July it's time once again for the Annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. This intense event takes place on Coney Island in New York. People qualify from around the world.

The past few years there has been a professional eater out of San Jose named Joey Chestnut. In 2013 Chestnut set the world record by eating 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes, which translates to 20,010 calories. This event is to the point of incredible.

Since 1916, competitive eaters have crushed hot dogs at the Nathan's Annual Hot Dog contest. Now let's get something straight, these pro-eaters are almost to the point of eating like a grizzly bear. There is also a ladies' division, and these petite women can just crush food.

Joey Chestnut will defend his belt against all comers. This guy is almost inhuman. He ate 69 Nathan's hot dogs in 10 minutes. but there are always a lot of people trying to beat that number.

Professional eating is actually considered a sport. Here are just a few of the gruesome records that people accomplished: Someone ate 2 3-lb. burritos in 3 min. 46c sec., also 54 pieces of bacon in 5 min. and 42 slices of pumpkin pie in 10 min. This is almost to the point of insanity.

So get ready for the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on the Forth. Again, Joey Chestnut will be the heavy favorite.
