Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez provided the offense as the Detroit Tigers won their eighth consecutive win defeating the Houston Astros 3-2 Wednesday night at Comerica Park. Cabrera hit his 4th home run, a two run shot in the first to give Detroit (20-9) the lead and Martinez completed the scoring with a solo shot in the sixth, his sixth of the season.  Rick Porcello (5-1) scattered seven hits over 6 1/3 innings while striking out five and Joe Nathan struck out Matt Dominguez with two outs and the tying run on third base for his seventh save. Brad Peacock (0-3) took the loss for Houston (10-24). Detroit goes for the series sweep as the two teams meet again Thursday afternoon. Drew Smyly (2-1) gets the start for the Tigers while Dallas Keuchel (2-2) goes for Houston. Pregame coverage begins at 12:40pm on Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM
