The Boston Bruins staked an early two goal lead and held off the Detroit Red Wings 3-0 in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference first round playoff series at Joe Louis Arena Tuesday night. The Bruins now hold a 2-1 series lead thanks to Jordan Caron and Dougie Hamilton who each scored in the first period and Patrice Bergeron added an empty net goal late in the third to complete the scoring. Tuukka Rask earned his fourth career post season shutout by stopping all 22 Detroit shots. Jimmy Howard made 30 saves for the Red Wings in the loss.
