Browns Lose Stefanski, Bitonio Due To COVID-19
In the same week that the NFL's Cleveland Browns are scheduled to play their first NFL playoff game since 2002, they will be without some key pieces to their 2020 season.
First-year head coach Kevin Stefanski (pictured in front of QB Baker Mayfield with mask) and Pro Bowl offensive guard Joel Bitonio are among five people who have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unavailable for Sunday's AFC Wild Card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in the Steel City, according to the NFL Network.
Special Teams Coach Mike Priefer will be the acting head coach on Sunday night. Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt will call plays for the Browns against their arch-rivals.
The Browns finished the regular season at 11-5, good for third in the AFC North behind Pittsburgh and the Baltimore Ravens.
