One of the great weekends in all of sports is upon us once again.  Final Four weekend at AT & T Stadium in Arlington, TX (aka JerryWorld in honor of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones). There are four new participants in this year's national semifinals:  Florida, Connecticut, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.

The Wildcats were expected to get here with all the highly-touted players they had coming in this year, and only now are they playing like it.  Their opponents are a newcomer to this stage, Wisconsin.  They're coming off an upset of top-seeded Arizona in the West regional final to get coach Bo Ryan to the big stage.

As for the other semi, the SEC champion Florida Gators lost to Connecticut early in the season but they haven't lost since December when they lost to Wisconsin.  Point guard Scotty Wilbekin has led the way for them all season long.  UCONN has their own great point guard, Shabazz Napier, who's torn it up in the NCAA Tournament and was on the 2011 championship team with Kemba Walker.

As for the predictions, I've got the two teams who are playing the best to win on Saturday.  And that's Florida and Kentucky.  They played a classic SEC Championship Game at the Georgia Dome a few weeks back that Florida won by one point.

Hopefully, if they meet in the final next Monday, it'll be close to that.  But I think head coach Billy Donovan will get his third national championship at Florida.  Make it: Florida 74, Kentucky 69.

Enjoy the games this weekend, this is Brock Palmbos....signing off.
