Now that I am 61 years old and have watched a ton of football, there have been hundreds of people broadcasting the games. CBS Sports and ABC had so many wonderful people doing games.

I really looked forward to Sundays watching football with my dad. My father Ed DeMarco loved football. We really enjoyed watching the games together. My mom would make Rigatoni, meatballs and baked chicken almost every Sunday.

There were so many different games we enjoyed. We would sit in front of the television for hours. There were legendary broadcasters and former NFL players too.

There was Vin Scully, George Allen, Pat Summerall, Tom Brookshier, Curt Gowdy, Hank Stram, Lindsey Nelson, Paul Hornung, Jimmy "The Greek," Jack Whitaker, Irv Cross, Jayne Kennedy, Brent Musberger, Gary Bender and Sonny Jurgensen. These people were legends and I’ll never forget them as I grew up with them.

But, let’s not forget Monday Night Football with Howard Cosell, Don Meredith, Keith Jackson, Frank Gifford, Fred Williamson, Alex Karras, Fran Tarkenton, O.J. Simpson, Joe Namath, Al Michaels and Dan Dierdorf. Of, course there were many after but that was the group until the ’80s were over.

Today’s NFL broadcasters are all solid. The technology is different, but I love it with the Red Zone too. I will always cherish and never forget the broadcasters I grew up with and that time period in my life. Don’t ever forget your upbringing!
