Brandon Johns Set To Verbally Commit Later Today

On the heels of rumors that may or may not have been unfounded, Brandon Johns is set to verbally commit somewhere to play his college basketball later today.

Yesterday, Johns retweeted multiple reports that he would commit on Thursday and has since retweeted many of his followers wishing him luck no matter what his decision may be.

East Lansing head basketball coach Steve Finamore told The Game 730 AM WVFN in a voicemail that he expects his announcement to be made via twitter around noon today. D1Vision is reporting Johns will announce at noon central time, meaning 1 P.M. in the eastern time zone.

Back in May, Johns released a top 10 edit on his twitter feed for his college recruitment. The schools in alphabetical order were:

• Alabama
• Creighton
• Iowa
• Memphis
• Michigan
• Michigan State
• Missouri
• Purdue
• Texas
• Xavier

Johns also took unofficial visits to both Indiana and Pitt this month.

Johns was recently rumored to be headed to Michigan but at that time the rumors were suspect at best as neither Johns nor the coaching staff at ELHS had said anything on the record about a possible commitment at that time.
