Starting out as a weatherman/TV-Radio host for TV8 in the 70s, Andy also played "Captain Woody" on the TV8 afternoon kids' show. Andy just might be the most recognized personality in the West Michigan area having been on radio and TV for over five decades. Originally a "Hoosier" from Muncie, Indiana, Andy graduated from Ball State University, working in radio and TV in Richmond, Muncie and Indianapolis. Andy is deeply involved in the Grand Rapids and West Michigan community having served on the board of directors of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the Metropolitan YMCA, and Easter Seals-Michigan. He also works with the Salvation Army, DeGage Ministries, JDRF, Disability Advocates, Hope Network, among others. Andy is a busy father and grandfather with seven children and fourteen grandchildren. What's the the best part of his job? The ability to make a difference in the community.
