Two games and two wins for the Detroit Red Wings.  Anthony Mantha has been a big reason for the start and he was recently honored by the NHL.

According to the NHL, Mantha was named the second star for the first week of the season.  He joins Mika Zibanejad of the New York Rangers (first star) and Austin Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs(third star) as the 3 stars of the week.

Mantha has scored five goals and 7 points in two games.  He scored 4 goals in the Red Wings latest win at home against Dallas.

He is the first Red Wings player to score four goals in a game since Johan Franzen against Ottawa in 2011.

It will be interesting to see just how many goals Mantha will score this season.  We'll see if he can keep up the pace for the full season.
