It’s been almost 48 hours since I have gone public with my plans to walk away from my Mad Dog Show after 26 years on the radio.

If you missed the segment, check it out here:

This decision has been in the works for almost two years. My wife, doggie, and I are building a home in Cedar Bluff, Alabama on a bluff.

Life In Alabama:

This will be a game-changer for our lives that we really are looking forward to. We will be living next door to my brother and sister-in-law and niece and nephew. This is about 11 hours from Lansing in the car. I am really looking forward to this life change for my wife and me.

It’s been a long time coming. I can’t wait to really get back into fishing, like when I was younger. This is how this all came about. Two years ago we were visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Acworth, Georgia. They had bought a condo on Weiss Lake in Alabama which they owned for a few years. Which is next door to Cedar Bluff.

So, they sold the condo and bought two lots on a mountain called the Bluffs in Cedar Bluff. They took my wife Carole and me up there to show us. My Brother in law Pat said, “Dave if you want this lot I will sell it to you and Carole”.

I pondered about this as I walked the perimeter of the property. They watched me and Carole told them ”no way David will go for this “! As I walk around My deceased parents jumped into my head and said ”David you have to buy this property, build a home, and move here.

So, that’s what we did. Unbelievable! May 13th will be my last Mad Dog Show at One North Restaurant in Delta Township. From 3-6 pm you will need to get there and be part of my last hurrah! Thanks to everyone for your support after all these years.

Mad Dog's All Century MLB Team

Everyone's team will look a bit different because there are so many great Hall of Fame players to choose from. Here's who I would pick.
