Americans Venus Williams, Madison Keys Knocked Out At Wimbledon
Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams (pictured), and last year's U.S. Open finalist, Madison Keys (below) were eliminated in the third round at Wimbledon on Friday afternoon, British time.
Venus was beaten in three sets by Holland's Kiki Bertens. The final score was 6-2, 6-7(5), 8-6 in 2 hours, 40 minutes.
Madison Keys fell to the 120th ranked player in the world, Evgenia Rodina of Russia, in three tight sets as well. 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 in 2 hours, 10 minutes was the final result.
Today's action leaves only 2 of the top ten women's seeds still alive at the All-England Club, top seed and French Open champion Simona Halep and 7th seeded Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic.
