Coming from the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Tigers legend Al Kaline has passed away.

No cause of death has been released as of yet.

Kaline played with the Detroit Tigers from 1953-1974, and later in 1980 was inducted into the Hall of Fame. With the nickname 'Mr. Tiger,' Kaline accomplished a lot in his career, winning ten Gold Gloves in the right field. He was also selected to 18 All-Star games from 1955 to 1967, according to WXYT.

Kaline retired after hitting the 3,000-hit milestone. He was also the Tigers' TV color commentator up until 2002.

Up until his death at age 85, Kaline still worked for the Tigers at their front office.
