If you’re tired of being locked up at home, there’s something else to get out and do as the Cannonsburg Ski Area is open and ready for skiers and snowboarders.

WOODTV says that the Belmont attraction is open and people are definitely taking advantage. They also report that because of COVID, of course, there are precautionary changes this year.

few of the changes include a big one with the lodge being closed this year. So you need to make sure you dress really warm if you go because you can't go inside to warm up, although they do have firepits around the deck and base of the hill.  You can also still get drinks, both adult and non-adult, outside as they’ve created a shipping container bar area with a full-service bar and have The Sweet Spot and Burgie’s Food Truck onsite for snacks. The Cannonsburg Ski Area website says that you will still be able to go In to use the restroom, and they'll have porta-potties set up around the ski area, in case you don't feel comfortable being inside.

Other precautions include wearing a mask always, practicing social distancing, and riding the lift with only people you’ve come to the ski area with. WOODTV also reports that staff is receiving daily health checks, and are thoroughly and regularly sanitizing high touch areas, as well as the rental equipment.

Cannonsburg staff do recommend having a pick-up and drop-off plan if you're bringing your kids to ski since the lodge is closed and they won't be able to wait and warm up there.
