1. Michigan State had a great chance to grab a quality road win yesterday, but let it slip away with poor offense late in the game.  In a tight one with Ohio State, MSU had seven straight empty trips to finish the game.  They went like this: Missed jumper, missed three-pointer, turnover, turnover, missed three-pointer, turnover, missed jumper.

Ohio State only had two points in the last 3:48 of the game, but it was enough to secure a 69-67 win over Michigan State. The Spartans finish the Big Ten season at 12-6, and will be the 3 seed in the Big Ten tournament.  They will play the winner of the Iowa and Northwestern game.

2. The Michigan State Women's team won their first Big Ten tournament game on Friday night over Michigan.  In the semifinals, they got blitzed by Nebraska 86-58.  The Cornhuskers shot 52% from the field.  The Spartans also turned the ball over 23 times.

3. The Michigan State hockey team had a rough Friday, dropping a 7-1 game to Michigan.  They came back from a 3-1 deficit on their home ice Saturday night.  The Spartans scored late in the 2nd period, then twice in the 3rd period.  Will Yanakeff stopped all 13 third period shots from the Wolverines to give MSU a much needed win.

4. The high school boys basketball regionals get underway tonight.  We'll have a doubleheader on our airwaves starting at 6 pm.  The first game is Lansing Eastern-Ann Arbor Skyline, followed by Holt-Kalamazoo Central.  Lansing Catholic will play Wayland Union in class B, and the winner of that game will play Leslie or Jackson Lumen Christi.  Pewamo-Westphalia will play Grand Rapids NorthPointe in class C. Fulton plays Muskegon Catholic Central in class D.

5. Detroit Lions owner William Clay Ford passed away yesterday.  Here is the team's statement from detroitlions.com.
