The 10-team field for the 61st Dean Shippey Capital Diamond Classic baseball tournament was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Here is the bracket for this year's field, courtesy of the Diamond Classic's Twitter page:


Defending tournament champion DeWitt (8-9) will open the tournament on May 22nd against 17-5 Fowler at 5:00pm.  Then at 7:00, Portland (7-4) will face 16-9 Williamston.  These are the two first round games.

The quarterfinals begin the next night with 23-3 Olivet facing 13-3 Lansing Catholic at 5pm.  That's followed by 13-5 St. Johns against 21-5 Laingsburg at 7pm.

The other two quarterfinals will be on May 25th.  Game 1 has Okemos (18-4-1) facing the DeWitt/Fowler winner.  Game 2 will have 13-8 Grand Ledge against the Portland/Williamston winner.

The semifinals will be played on Wednesday, May 31st with the championship game on Monday, June 5th.

DeWitt won last year's Diamond Classic with a 3-2 victory over St. Johns at McLane Stadium.  It was the Panthers 3rd Classic title in history.  Grand Ledge has won the most Diamond Classic titles with 27.
