2019 Winter Classic to be Held at Notre Dame with an Original 6 Matchup
Both of these teams have become veterans of outdoor games. The Blackhawks will play outside for the fourth time going back to 2009 when they hosted the Red Wings for the Winter Classic. The Blackhawks have yet to win an outdoor game.
The Bruins hosted two previous Winter Classics (2010, 2016) at both Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium. This will be their first outdoor game outside of Boston.
Notre Dame stadium has a listed capacity of over 80,000 for football. It's the second time a Winter Classic will be held in a college football stadium ever. Ann Arbor was the first in 2014.
The game will be played January 1, 2019.
