1. Tigers Need Two Runs In 9th To Top Twins

Last night, after sending Max Scherzer to the mound, the Tigers were looking to get him his 17th win of the year.  While the Tigers won 8-6, it was the bullpen who blew a 6-4 lead as the Twins tied the game in the bottom of the 8th.  The Tigers got two 9th inning blasts from Torii Hunter and Miguel Cabrera.  In general, the Tigers offense did produce scoring 8 runs on 16 hits.  This is another late win for the Tigers after winning two of three from the Indians late in the game.  The Tigers will send Rick Porcello, who is looking for his 16th win of the year and the Twins will send Ricky Nolasco.

2. Royals Keep Pace With Tigers

Last night, the Kansas City Royals took on division rival Chicago White Sox and kept pace with the Tigers winning late in the game 4-3.  All 4 runs for the Royals came in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings.  The White Sox had piled up the hits getting 13 hits throughout the game but only had scored 3 runs.  John Danks pitched 6 innings with no runs and 6 strikeouts.  The Royals will face off against the White Sox again and will try to get closer to the Tigers lead in the AL Central.

3. Radisson Hotels Drop Sponsorship With Vikings

A day after Adrian Peterson was deactivated, the Minnesota Vikings and Radisson Hotel chain have ended their sponsorship.  This came after another report in the Adrian Peterson story that Adrian Peterson hit another son back in 2013.  Many have seen that all of the press conferences for the Vikings have had the Radisson logo in the background.  Read more about the situation and Radisson's statement here.

4. Eagles Top Colts On Monday Night Football

In the 2nd Monday night of the football season, the Philadelphia Eagles squared off against the Indianapolis Colts.  The Colts got out to a fast start and at one point led 20-6 late in the 3rd quarter.  But, the Eagles fought back and outscored the Colts 24-7 from the 3rd quarter on.  Andrew Luck went 20/34 with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception but only threw for 174 yards.  Nick Foles went 21/37 for 331 with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles combined rushed for over 100 yards but both helped lead the Eagles to a victory.

5. MLB's Postseason Starts To Take Shape

Last night, teams have been getting closer to clinching playoff berths as we get deeper and deeper into the MLB season.  Last night, the Baltimore Orioles are now within one game of clinching the AL East after a win last night.  The Anaheim Angels have clinched the first playoff berth of the MLB.  In the National League, the Nationals are two games away from winning the NL East and clinching the first playoff berth for the National League.
