1. Pistons Beat Knicks For First Win Of The Year

Last night at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Detroit Pistons took on the New York Knicks looking to capture the first win of the season.  With Greg Monroe leading the way, the Pistons topped the Knicks 98-95.  The Pistons built a 75-59 lead entering the 4th quarter but, the Knicks came roaring back scoring 36 points in the 4th quarter.  But, the comeback was not enough as the Pistons were able to hit their free throws down the stretch.  Greg Monroe had a double-double scoring 23 points and grabbing 18 rebounds.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 20 points.  The Pistons next game is tomorrow against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

2. Detroit Red Wings Fall In Overtime

Last night, the Red Wings traveled to New York to take on the Rangers in an original 6 match up.  The Red Wings, who played the night before, fell to the Rangers in overtime 4-3.  The Red Wings had 3 goal scorers starting with Jakub Kindl followed by Daniel Cleary both of which in the 2nd period and tying the game at 2.  Thomas Tartar scored the 3 goal for the Red Wings tying the game at 3 late in the 3rd period.  In overtime, Derick Brassard, took a big rebound and scored to win the game.  The Red Wings will have a day off before taking on Devils at home on Friday.

3. Roger Goodell Testifies For 2 Hours

In the Ray Rice appeal case, Roger Goodell testified for two hours.  During the case, Goodell was cross-examined by Jeffery Kessell of the NFL Players Association.  Arbitrator Barbara Jones has issued confidentiality on the case so details of what was discussed will not be released.  Read more about the case here.

4. Calvin Johnson Says He Will Return

Detroit Lions wide receiver says that he will be playing this week against Miami.  Calvin Johnson has missed three games plus a bye week with this ankle injury.  Without Johnson out, the Lions are 3-0 with two come from behind wins against the Saints and the Falcons.  The Lions will host the Miami Dolphins this Sunday as they begin a difficult November schedule.

5. Alex Rodriguez Confessed To Using PED

Alex Rodriguez admitted to the DEA that he used steroids from a fake doctor in Miami.  Rodriguez received immunity from prosecution for his word behind closed doors.  Arbitrators also reduced his suspension from 211 to 162 (a full MLB season).  Read more about the Alex Rodriguez situation here.
