1. Spartans Beat Maryland Thanks To The Defense

On Saturday, Michigan State traveled to College Park, Maryland to take on the Terrapins.  Michigan State's defense had a strong performance leading the way holding Maryland to 252 total yards, 6 total on the ground.  The final score was 37-15 in favor of Michigan State.  The offense was lead by Jeremy Langford who had 25 carries and 138 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Connor Cook was not super accurate going 14/31 for 240 yards.  Maryland Ran the ball 17 times only getting 6 yards on the 17 carries.  The Spartans will take on Rutgers in the final home game of the year with kickoff slated for 12:00 PM.

2. Detroit Lions Fall In Arizona

Yesterday afternoon, the Detroit Lions had a big game in front of them as the faced the Arizona Cardinals. The Lions could not get the offense started only scoring 6 points in the 14-6 loss to the Cardinals.  Joique Bell has 14 rushes and 85 yards and Matt Stafford went 18/30 for 183 yards and 1 interception.  Former spartan, Drew Stanton played extremely well going 21/32 for 306 yards and 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Detroit Lions will take on the New England Patriots in Foxboro, MA before hosting the Chicago Bears for the Thanksgiving Day game.

3. Red Wings Get Outplayed By Montreal

Last night at the Joe, the Detroit Red Wings hosted the Montreal Canadians.  The Canadians came into the game with one of the best records in the league.  Even though the Red Wings lead the way in shots, they ended up falling to the Montreal Canadians 4-1. The Red Wings had 29 shots compared to the 19 shots that the Canadians had.  Jimmy Howard could only save 15 shots.  Riley Sheahan had the lone goal for the Red Wings.  The Red Wings will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in Columbus.

4. Spartan Basketball Tops Navy In Maryland

On Friday night, the Spartan basketball season tipped off with the Basketball team traveling to Navy.  MSU won a close game topping Navy 64-59.  Travis Trice lead the team in points with 25 points with Brandon Dawson scoring 12 points.  Trice went 8-14 from the field and 5-6 from behind the arc.  The Spartans will look for a more balanced performance as they take on Duke tomorrow night.

5. DEA Inspecting NFL Teams

Yesterday during the NFL games the Drug Enforcement Agency raided some NFL teams.  One was the Seattle Seahawks in St. Louis, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were stopped at the airport and the San Francisco 49ers were searched in New Jersey when they played New York Giants.  Some teams confirmed that they talk to the team doctors and did search but other teams have not released the extent of the search.  Read more about the investigation here.
