1. Rory Jumps Out To Early Lead; Tiger Is Not Far Behind

Round 1 was completed and Rory McIlory has the early lead.  McIlroy, who shot a 66, had a one stroke lead entering today.  Rory will tee off today at 9:27 am  Tiger Woods had a shaky front 9, but got it together on the back 9 making 5 birdies and 1 bogey.  He shot a 69 for the day and will be teeing off today at 9:05 am.  Phil Mickelson shot a 74 yesterday and only had 2 birdies.  He teed off at this morning at 4:04 am and is currently on the course.  For the up to date leaderboard click here.

2. Tigers Are Back In Action

The Detroit Tigers are back in action today for a weekend series against the Cleveland Indians.  The series will include four games due to a makeup game from earlier in the year.  Tonight, Anabal Sanchez will be pitching and Trevor Bauer will take the mound for Cleveland.  The Tigers have a 6.5 game lead in the Central over Kansas City.  Cleveland currently sits in 3rd 1 game behind Kansas City and 7.5 behind Detroit.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:08.

3. Payne And Harris Continue Summer League Play

Both Payne and Harris played on Wednesday in the NBA Summer League both with some improved results.  Payne and the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Golden State Warriors 68-65.  Payne had 10 points, 2-4 from 3 point range.  Harris and the Denver Nuggets played the NBA D-League Select team losing 87-75.  He scored 15 points while shooting 5-18, 2-6 from 3 point range and 5 turnovers.

4. Lions Sign Garret Reynolds

The Detroit Lions sign former Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Garret Reynolds.  The 27 year old Reynolds was a fifth-round pick and debuted in 2009.  The announcement was made via twitter.  For more information click here.

5. Cav's Willing To Trade For Love

In a report by USA Today the Cleveland Cavalier are interested in including Andrew Wiggins in the Kevin Love trade talks.  There have been talks that the Timberwolves do not want to trade Kevin Love.  It is unknown if this addition would be enough to push the Timberwolves into trading Kevin Love.  If this trade goes through, Kevin Love will join LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in what could be considered the New Big 3.
