1. Cold Shooting Pistons Fall To Hawks

Yesterday afternoon, the Detroit Pistons fell to the Atlanta Hawks 93-82 thanks to cold shooting by the Pistons.  The Pistons were not far behind as they were down 3 points at halftime but the Hawks pulled away in the 2nd half.  Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 16 points and 20 rebounds while Andre Drummond had 13 points and 18 rebounds.  Paul Milsap helped lead the way for the Hawks scoring 20 points and Mike Scott scored 20 points off the bench.  This loss ended the Pistons two game win streak but the team has won 11 of the last 14 games.  The Pistons next game will be tomorrow as they take on the Orlando Magic at The Palace Of Auburn Hills.

2. NFL Investigating Patriots Use Of Deflated Balls

The NFL announced that it will be conducting a probe into the New England Patriots for using deflated balls during the AFC Championship game.  Many people who saw the game believed that some sort of investigation would occur because they were checking the pressure of the balls throughout the game.  If the Patriots are found guilty of deflating the balls, it will result in loss of draft picks.  Read more about the probe here.

3. Villanova Falls To Conference Foe

Villanova traveled to the University of Georgetown last night to take on Hoyas.  Coming into the game, the Villanova Wildcats had 1 loss and was ranked number 4 in the country.  Villanova could not figure out Georgetown's defense shooting 34% which ultimately led to the 78-58 loss.  This loss was the 2nd loss for the Wildcats during the Big East season.  With the loss, Duke, Wisconsin and Arizona will be looking to move up.  Check out the stats from the game here.

4. Bruins To Host 2016 Winter Classic

Yesterday, it was reported that the NHL Winter Classic will be held in Boston.  This is the 2nd time the Winter Classic will take place in Boston after a 2010 matchup between the Bruins and the Flyers.  This years matchup will pit the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadians.  The other difference in the winter classic will be the host site.  This game will be hosted at Gillette Stadium about 20 miles outside of the city.  The Canadians will be the 2nd Canadian team to play in the game.

5. Seahawks To Get Two Injured Players In Time For Big Game

After winning the NFC Sunday, the Seahawks should be getting two key players from the defense back in time for the Super Bowl.  Richard Sherman said that MRI's showed that he had an elbow strain.  Earl Thomas will also play even after missing the 2nd half with his injury.  Read more about the injuries here. The Super Bowl will kick off on the 1st of February at 6:30 pm in Arizona.
