1. Missing Ohio State Football Player Found Dead

Missing Ohio State football player Kosta Karageorge was found dead near the Ohio State University Campus. His tattoos on his body helped authorities identify his body.  A few days ago, Karageorge sent a text message to his mother citing the concussions and was apologizing if he was "an embarrassment".  There was a gun inflicted wound found on his body.  An official police report is expected later this week.

2. Michigan State Basketball Falls To Kansas

In the Orlando Classic down at the HP Field House in Florida, Michigan State and Kansas squared off in the championship game. Michigan State and Kansas went back and fourth in the first half with Michigan State leading 36-35.  But, in the 2nd half, Michigan State shot poorly and ultimately fell 61-56.  Denzel Valentine and Travis Trice both finished with 14 points.  Trice shot 3-14, 2-6 from three while Valentine shot 5-8, 3-5 from three.  Dawson finished with 8 points shooting 4-15 from the field.  Michigan State plays Notre Dame in South Bend this Wednesday as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

3. Spartans Finish Regular Season On A High Note

Michigan State steamrolled Penn State with a big 34-10 win.  Connor Cook went 13/25 for 180 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  Jeremy Langford had 30 carries for 118 yards with 2 touchdowns.  R.J. Shelton also stepped up starting the game with a 90 yard kickoff return to start off the game.  The defense caused 2 turnovers during the game, one interception and one fumble recovery.  Michigan State almost had 35 minutes of time of possession, compared to the 25 of Penn State.  Michigan State will now wait for the bowl pairings which will be announced after the championship games this weekend.

4. Michigan Football Ends Season Without A Bowl Bid; Lose To OSU

University of Michigan football ends the season on a sour note after losing to Ohio State University 42-28.  With the loss Michigan falls to 5-7 not getting the 6 wins necessary to be bowl eligible.  Devin Gardner played well going 22/32 for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.  Drake Johnson had 15 carries for 74 yards.  During the game, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett went down with a broken ankle and will be out for the rest of the season.

5. Ray Rice Free To Sign With Any Team

After Ray Rice wins appeal, he is now free to sign with any team he wants.  Rice was suspended indefinitely after the footage from the elevator was made public by TMZ.  According to the ruling by Judge Barbara S. Jones, Ray Rice did not mislead commissioner Roger Goodell.  As a result, he should not have been suspended past the two game suspension he received.  Read the comments from the NFL as well as the NFLPA here.
