1. Tigers Win Again, Sweep Rockies

The streaky Detroit Tigers get the job done this weekend sweeping the Colorado Rockies in a weekend series.  Both Joba Chamberlain and Joakim Soria both pitched scoreless innings but the star of the day was Anibal Sanchez who pitched 7 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts and 0 walks while giving up 2 hits.  The Tigers gave up 7 runs in the 3 game series while scoring 19 runs including 11 on Saturday night.  The Tigers head to New York to play the Yankees in a 4 game series.

2. Paul George Seriously Injured

In a team USA scrimmage, Paul George of the Indiana Pacers suffered a serious leg injury which he needed surgery to place a pin in it to repair it.  This will once again bring up the discussion of NBA players playing for the national team over the summer.  George was a huge part of Indiana's playoff push and run into the playoffs.  For more information, click here.

3. P.K. Subban Signs 8-year Contract With Canadians

P.K. Subban and the Montreal Canadians agreed to an 8 year contract worth over $72 million.  The 25 year old has won the Norris trophy back in 2012-2013 season and he led the team in points in last years playoffs.  This deal ended up voiding a one year arbitration hearing from last week.

4. T-Wolves Owner Knows Love Trade Is Bound To Happen

In an interview with the Pioneer Press, the owner of the Timberwolves knows, the trade is likely to come at some point this month.  That some point is looking at August 23rd, the day Andrew Wiggins becomes available to trade.  If it is before that, then the trade will not include Andrew Wiggins because of when he signed his contract.  Flip Saunders, who is the president of the organization, is looking forward to getting different pieces.  Read more about the comments here.

5. Packers To Retire Favre Number 4

Packers are planning to retire the Brett Favre's number 4.  It is unsure when it will be, whether it will be 2014 or 2015 season but it will happen.  The team is planning an announcement 2:30 pm Monday afternoon where it is expected they will talk more about the retirement.  Favre played 16 seasons in Green Bay before going to the Jets and Vikings.
