Yankees take down The Tigers, 5-1

The New York Yankees ( 59-54) defeated the Detroit Tigers (62-49) tonight, 5-1. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Miguel Cabrera scored Rajai Davis for a run in the 1st. The Tigers would have a 1-0 lead until the 5th inning when Chase Headley hit a single run homer. Yankees would take the lead in the 7th when Brian McCann hit a homer. The Yankees blew the game wide open in the 8th after Mark Teixeira, scoring Brett Gardner. McCann hit a ground double, scoring Jacoby Ellsbury and Teixeria.
