Yankees slip past the Tigers, 2-1

The Detroit Tigers (61-48) lost to the New York Yankees (58-53) tonight in New York, 2-1. The Yankees got on the board first after a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jakoby Ellsbury to score Ichiro Suzuki in the 3rd. Later, Brian McCann took the plate and hit a line drive single to bring home Brett Gardner. The Tigers got a run in the 5th after Ian Kinsler got a hold of a line drive single to score Andrew Romine. The Tigers take on the Yankees again tomorrow, game broadcast begins at 6:40 PM On Lansing's Big Talker, WJIM AM, 1240 AM.
