WMU Sells Rights to “Row The Boat”
ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell is reporting on his Twitter account that Western Michigan has sold the rights to the term “Row The Boat” to former Broncos coach and current University of Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck.
Fleck left WMU last month to take over at Minnesota. He led the Broncos to a 13-1 season, a Mid-American Conference championship, and a Cotton Bowl appearance in the 2016 season. He used the term “Row The Boat” as a rallying cry for the program.
Here’s Rovell’s tweet from Wednesday morning.
BREAKING: P.J. Fleck & Western Michigan have reached a deal to transfer the "Row The Boat" trademark rights to Fleck. Will cost $50,000.
