The Detroit Red Wings won their season opener against the Boston Bruins tonight in Hockeytown, 2-1.The Bruins scored first in the 1st period after Patrice Bergeron scored against Jimmy Howard with a snap shot. Johan Franzen struck back in the 2nd with a deflected shot with Danny DeKeyser and Henrick Zetterberg on the assist. Later in the 2nd, Gustav Nyquist  scored a power play goal with a wrist shot, Zetterberg on the assist. The Wings dominated in shots on goal over Boston, 24-17.
