California Chrome is expected to be even money to win the Belmont Stakes in New York on Saturday.

If this happens, it will be a great day in the world of horse racing. Why, you ask? Because, if California Chrome makes the complete sweep of all the legs of the Triple Crown this horse will be the in the history books forever.

California Chrome would be the first horse since 1978 when Affirmed won all three races. That would be the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and the Belmont Stakes.

Going into the Kentucky Derby , the odds on California Chrome just winning the Derby were 5-2. Now his odds to win the Triple Crown are 9-1. T

his stat is really crazy: In the preseason of horse racing this year, California Chrome was 3000-1 odds to win the Triple Crown!

This horse had to be cleared to race because California Chrome needs nasal strips, which were banned in New York horse racing. But just two weeks ago they lifted the ban on this longtime rule. California Chrome might not have raced if this rule wasn't lifted.

This horse is special for having a modest pedigree. I really feel strong that California Chrome will be the next Triple Crown winner.
