We have five area teams still alive for Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) regional boys basketball championships, set to be played on Wednesday night.

In Class A, the unbeaten East Lansing Trojans will face the Maroon Giants of Kalamazoo Central at Richland-Gull Lake H.S.  It'll be a battle of big men as East Lansing's Brandon Johns battles K'zoo Central's Isaiah Livers.  Livers is a finalist for Mr. Basketball, and will be going to Michigan next season.

In Class B, after upsetting number 1 Wyoming Godwin Heights on Monday, the Williamston Hornets will battle CAAC White rival Portland for a third time.  The Red Raiders entered the state tournament with a 8-12 record, but three victories in the postseason have then in the regional final.

There are two Class D area teams left.  Lansing Christian hosts their own regional this year and they'll be favored to take out Plymouth Christian after the Pilgrims bounced Morenci easily in the semis.

The other Class D team left is Fowler.  They took out Bay City All Saints on Monday.  The Eagles are led by Jeremy Pung, who crossed the 1,000 point plateau in the district finals last week.  The International Academy of Flint awaits in Wednesday's final at Saginaw.

We will have dual coverage of the Class A and B regional finals on Wednesday night.

WVFN will have the East Lansing-Kalamazoo Central game at 6:00pm right after the Mad Dog Show.  Then at 6:45, Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM will carry the Williamston-Portland game from Ionia High School.
