It's time once again for the MLB All Star Game.

The 85th All Star Game will be played this year in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The MLB All Star Game, to me, is the best All Star Game of all the pro sports. This year is special again. Last year at the All Star Game they celebrated the retirement of Mariano Riviera--this year they will celebrate the retirement of Derek Jeter. Both players played their entire career with the New York Yankees.

I really do love the pageantry of this All Star Game. It's a special honor to be voted on to the team and also to be added as an extra. The MLB All Star Game also means something: The winner of the game--either the National or American League--will have home field advantage in the World Series.

This also will be the last All Star Game for the longtime Commissioner Alan "Bud" Selig. He will retire after this year and no one will shed any tears. I am quite happy he will be out of there.

This year's MLB All Star Game will be big because of the Jeter retirement. Classy guy and classy ballplayer out of Kalamazoo.
