Michigan State just finished the college football season ranked No. 5 in the country, after finishing last season No. 3.

That's only the fourth time in school history the Spartans have completed back-to-back seasons ranked in the Top 5 of the Associated Press poll.

It's those kinds of accomplishments that have gotten MSU more national attention, and part of the reason why head coach Mark Dantonio was invited to participate in ESPN's pregame coverage of the national championship game on Monday.

Dantonio and the Spartans had unique perspective on the Ohio State-Oregon matchup as MSU played and lost to both of those squads this season.

Here are a few highlights of Dantonio's ESPN appearances, as well as some takes on the MSU football program from several ESPN analysts.
