Washington State redshirt sophomore QB Tyler Hilinski, who started at QB in the Cougars' Holiday Bowl game against Michigan State on December 28th, was found dead of an apparent suicide in his Pullman, Washington apartment late Tuesday night.

Hilinski played in 8 games in the 2017 season, throwing for 1,176 yards and seven touchdowns.  He was projected to be the team's starting QB in the 2018 season.

Hilinski went 39-50 for 272 yards with two touchdowns and an interception against Michigan State in the Holiday Bowl.  He started in place of regular starter Luke Falk, who was out with an injury.

Hilinski was just 21 years old.
