The Detroit Tigers ace pitcher Justin Verlander will be out six weeks after muscle repair surgery. He had core muscle repair surgery in Thursday in Philly. J.V. hurt himself in December while doing his intense off-season workouts, He will be re-evaluated after six weeks of physical rehab.

Justin Verlander turns 31 on Feb. 20, this is almost a week after pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Lakeland. I have to believe he will hardly pitch at all in Spring training games this Spring. This man has won a Cy Young, MVP, Rookie of The Year Award, and has had many other accomplishments. Verlander has pitched two no-hitters, but never a perfect game or won a World Series with Detroit.

Justin Verlander pitched at least 200 innings in each of the past seven seasons. He is the cornerstone and a backbone of this Detroit Tiger franchise. Hopefully, he will not need to miss any games. He has been the starter the last six seasons. Detroit will need him to go far this season.
