Though they are the reigning FIBA World Cup champions, team USA Basketball and their "B" roster, if you want to call it that, received a favorable draw Sunday to start their quest for a gold medal in the Rio Olympics.

The United States was put in Group A with France and Serbia who qualified via the 2016 qualification tournament in Serbia and the Philippines. Also in the group, Venezuela, China and Australia who won regional FIBA tournaments in 2015.

Group B features contenders like Argentina and Spain, as well as host Brazil, making Group B the more potent of the two groups.

The roster USA Basketball is sending to the Olympics is:
G Kyrie Irving
G Klay Thompson
G Demar Derozan
G Kyle Lowry
G Paul George
F Kevin Durant
F Draymond Green
F Jimmy Butler
F Harrison Barnes
F Carmelo Anthony
C Deandre Jordan
C Demarcus Cousins

The USA basketball team that is not going could arguably be just as talented as the team actually going to Rio. No LeBron James, Steph Curry, James Harden or Russell Westbrook among other notable names.

The Olympic basketball tournament runs August 6th to the 21st in Rio De Janeiro.
